Universal Studio Singapore

If you're one of my instagram followers, you'd have known that this is the 8/23 birthday present for his soon-to-come 23rd birthday! And if you're also wondering, why USS? It's because this boy has never been there before (WHAT?! I've been there at least twice before omg!).

We took the transformers ride first and it was my first time taking as well. To be honest, I didn't really fancy it as it was rather dizzy staring at the graphics. I've heard a lot of good ratings about it though so I kinda expected to be better. Well, just my own preference because GJ liked it a lot!

And then, we head to take the mummy ride which is always my all time fav! This was the convo between us before the ride:

Me: Are you scared?
GJ: No?!
Me: Are you sure since you have never taken a roller coaster ride before?!

And just a minute before the ride......

GJ: Ehhh, actually uh, I'm quite scared now.
Me: HAHAHA, I knew it! Be prepared.

I know I'm being mean but I just couldn't stop laughing at him and he kept questioning me how can a person like adrenaline rush so much that there's no kick in any roller coaster ride!

It's also our first time trying turkey leg which tasted so damn goooooooooood!! It's quite pricey but definitely worth it!

After one whole day of perspiration, walking under the hot sun and waiting for numerous rides, we were totally dead beat and that's when both of us craved for some snow crabs so we decided to head to momiji for their dinner buffet again!

As always, their snow crabs are the best among all the dishes!

Till then folks C:

Spooktacular @ Fort Siloso

About a month ago, GJ surprised me with spooktacular tix which made me quite excited not until when I was going to enter the 5 different trails, dorm, body, shutter, pee mak and coming soon.

Both of us got devil horns hairband to blend in with the atmosphere but the weather was so warm that we took it out after a short while.

Didn't manage to capture a lot of images as firstly the weather was crazily humid, secondly we were walking very quickly everywhere to make sure we get into all to go into all the trails and lastly the crowd was insane after 8pm!

It definitely pays to be early! To be honest, I didn't quite enjoy walking in the trails as some of which were too eerie especially it's at fort siloso. Nevertheless, it was quite a unique experience!

Mixed fruits pavlova

If you're wondering what exactly is a pavlova, it's actually a meringue-based dessert with a light crispy crust and soft sweet marshmallow center. The method of making a pavlova doesn't differ much from making meringue just that it's way larger!

So, this afternoon I decided to deal with the egg whites, sugar, kiwis, blueberries, grapes and whipping cream. In fact it was simpler than I thought because baking macaron shells is even more tedious. The only mistake which I made was that I didn't beat the egg whites long enough thus the peak eventually dropped after it was cooled.

Nevertheless, I'm still glad that it was successful! Mixed fruits are not the most ideal for my own personal preference because I'm a fan of mixed berries (sadly it isn't berries season now) but if you're a fan of tropical fruits, do give this a shot! :>

What's once and now

And when I thought days are getting better, somehow or rather, certain things will have to prove me wrong. Sad to say, tonight's one of the rare nights that I'm feeling this way.

Most of the time, I keep my feelings to myself because I've learnt to protect myself from this judgmental world. They are so many out there who will tell you, they care, they love you but do they? From the bottom of their hearts? I guess I've accepted the fact, nope they don't.

Another thing that I've learnt, there's no way you can make someone appreciate you if they have never intended to. It works the same way for both friendships and relationships, they don't work out if you aren't at a two-ways street.

It's sad how, what's once may not and can never be now.

Reality

The vicious fact is people come and go. You get to meet some up, you tend to lose some and vice versa. It's a cycle but sometimes I feel really blessed to have some who really stay as there's a saying, "A true friend is one that knows you as you are, understands where you have been, accepts what you have become, and still, stays".

Anyway, I always can't wait for friday to end and the weekends to arrive. What people have known as TGIF can never be applicable to me but on a happier note, there are a lot of exciting plans coming up soon during the next few week(ends) so stay tuned for more updates hehe till then goodbye!

Dolce Tokyo

Last saturday, I was supposed to have brunch with GJ at wild honey but I was late due to the insane traffic jam and human crowd which was boarding the most popular bus to town and thus we settled at dolce tokyo instead since it's also in my cafe list!

I had quite a hard time deciding what to have and ended up with the usual, eggs benedict ($18) which definitely won't go wrong. Well, nothing too special about it but I specially like this because of the cheese which they added to it.

 Mushroom indulgence ($18)

Saturday with brunch, coffee and boyfriend is always splendid even though time may be limited and that you love to annoy me so much that I always scratch my head and pull my hair.

Accepting the love we think we deserve

“You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe deserve your love and affection.”

Selfish gene cafe

At last, I managed to persuade le boy to have brunch with me yay!! It's so difficult to ask him to cafe hop with me as he doesn't really fancy cafe food and that he assumes a lot of cafes are hard to locate!

It was pretty packed when I reached so it's always wiser to make a reservation in advance especially if you intend to visit on a weekend. Lucky us, only had to wait for around 10 minutes.

B.O.B ($15.80) which I didn't try as I'm not a fan of smoked salmon and GJ didn't comment much on the food either, except that the poached eggs ain't runny?

Breakfast plate ($15.80) for myself! I really love their scrambled eggs, not too creamy and not too runny as well as the toasted brioche!

Prices here are really affordable, mostly $10-$15 and there's no service charge. If you're around tiong bahru area, it's a definite must to drop by there and have their all day breakfast.

A day trip to JB

As singapore is getting rather mundane, I suggested a day trip to JB to poopz and he decided to call his gay partner in crime along. The more the merrier indeed!

Just look at how annoying this fellow can get each time we wanna snap a picture together!

First stop at breeks cafe after wandering a few rounds aimlessly in the mall. Food were just average but I've to admit it's very affordable! Those visuals on top are for the guys and I only bits of everything since I wanted to save my tummy for the night.

I've been dying to try this because I've heard so much ratings over these delicious crepe cakes. Apparently GJ chose the swiss chocolate velvet first and thus I had to the peanut butter chocolate which tasted mehz as the peanut butter taste was too strong for my liking (though I'm a reese lover). Nevertheless the rest are pretty awesome! So...... how can you not try this when they finally have an outlet in JB and that's so convenient to singaporeans?!

Thanks wilson for being a good photographer (unlike GJ) hahaha!

Batman cat spotted when we were having our dinner at taman sri tebrau, 大马花园

Shall head back there again someday soon I hope, to have a round of seafood (crab) feast! Till then, goodnight folks x.
