#3

So I was hugging to my bunny last night and the last thought I had before I turned in was, hoping that I could meet the boy in my dream which I really did and woke up smiling to myself. There's a saying that if you do dream of someone, that someone is actually missing you or wanting to see you but how true that is, I wouldn't know. And if you're wondering why am I so silly to hope that I'd wanna meet him in my dream instead of real life, that's because he's out for his field camp to train the new batch of soldiers and there's no reception over at that secluded place so we couldn't even text much. Highly doubt he'll be reading this anytime soon, but whatever it is, happy third monthsary my dear and see you in 10 days' time <3

I believe

I believe there is an attractive force that exists throughout the universe. Scientists call it gravity. Romantics call it love. I believe they’re both right. I believe bad things sometimes happen to good people, but I don’t want anything bad to happen to anybody. I believe ignorance is bliss. I believe everything happen for a reason. I believe in karma. I believe in fate. I believe in free will. I believe in miracles. I believe time is the best remedy to everything in life.

The croods

Hello there, how was your weekend? Or are you brooding over the monday blues?

Took my grade 6 piano theory exam during the weekend, worked full morning shifts for two consecutive days (I know I should be studying and not working but what to do, that's a need and not an option) and caught the croods with the boy!!

Though I'm not a big fan of cartoons or animated movies, this is really a MUST to watch omg I really love it a lot, especially this quote in the movie 'follow the light, it will bring you to tomorrow'.

April's coming and I'm so not prepared for the upcoming battle. It'd be really wonderful if someone can give me more motivation and encouragement to pass through this... I guess I really need them a lot.

Call to mind

So out of boredom, I decided to browse through evelyn's blog archives during secondary school days and started laughing to myself at how naive, playful, innocent, crazy and 'toot' we all were. At times like this, I do wish time machine exist and could bring me back to those carefree days. When I was younger then, someone told me, 'people you meet in your secondary school life are usually the ones whom you'll be the closest to among all', that I can't deny at all and I'm so glad that I've a handful of them whom I'm still really close to, those whom I can call true friends, people who won't judge at all.

Now talking about judging, who in this world doesn't judge but there are definitely different levels of judging. You see, some people judge you through looks, through their first impressions of you... but do they really know you? No they don't. They basically assume that you're this kind of person without knowing your story. That's how reality works most of the time isn't it? Vicious, indeed.

As you grow older, you'll start to realize that it's not the world that's not beautiful but it's the people in the world who make it ugly.

Stranger's reunion

OOTD, crochet fringe top x floral shorts

Crumbled cheesecake ($7.5)

Strawberry flan ($7.5)

One of the rare times when there wasn't any monday blues because I had a afternoon tea date with my darling evelyn but it turned out to be an exceptionally fattening day for us (especially me) because we just kept indulging those comfort food - cakes, tarts, carbs, fries and fried chicken and feeling a tad guilty now.

And if you're wondering if it's tough to get to stranger's reunion... it's actually alright if you've researched your way there, a bus stop away from outram mrt but remember to head out to correct exit. Both of us actually sort of walked the wrong direction and ended up perspiring crazily when we reached there due to the unbearable weather.

Nevertheless, it was a wonderful date with the bff and I've always loved dates with her because we always have never-ending topics to chat about <3

TGIF

Today, I decided to whip up a simple brunch on a stay home friday, pended some thoughts down in my diary and had some awesome korea strawberries which I happened to find while I was doing some grocery shopping last night. Cheers to strawberries season and apparently I only fancy korea ones because they are really sweet and not sour!

Piano theory exam in a week's time, shall continue mugging with that. Have a great weekend all, x! (:

Ways to feel better instantly

Chanced upon this thought catalog piece and feel like sharing with y'all!

1. Make a playlist of all your favorite songs, old ones you may have totally forgotten about from middle school or ones that bring back good memories.

 2. Take a walk outside. I find I only start to feel worse and wallow if I let myself melt into my bed and engage in the bad feelings.

 3. Organize your drawers or closet. It feels good to be productive when you feel like a worthless idiot on the inside. You can look at your clean clothes and feel like a human again.

 4. Eat something decadent. Make an ice cream sundae or smores. They’re not just for camping!

 5. Go through your phone and delete anyone you no longer talk to or anyone who sucks and makes your life worse.

 6. Call your best friend. No one talks on the phone anymore. I hate it. Let’s all talk in voices!

 7. Re-read your favorite book. Highlight the passages that make you love it so much so you’ll never forget them.

8. Read everything you can find about your favorite sports team. If you’re not already, become an expert on the team’s history, statistics and players. It’ll take your mind off you for a while.

9. Go volunteer with animals in some way. Being around cuties and fluffies will brighten your mood, and so will helping those in need.

 10. Do some yoga poses. You can look them up online if you don’t know any. Try holding them and breathing slowly.

 11. Go on Youtube and watch all the “fail” videos you can find. Be grateful you are not that person. Being you ain't so bad!

12. Futz around with your hair. Add some color or see what it would look like curly or in a beehive.

13. Do your make up. Make it look crazy or much thicker than you’d normally wear it. What would you look like as Amy Winehouse or Ke$ha? You’re in the comfort of your own home. Why not see?

 14. Eat fruit. Fruit has sugars that can lift your mood. Go for the pineapple and blueberries. Or make yourself a smoothie.

 15. If you have a journal, go back and read old entries. Remember all that stuff you cared about a year ago that now doesn’t matter?

 16. Smile. Even if you don’t feel like it, sometimes moving the muscles in our face activates chemicals in our brains to lift our moods. Smiling when you don’t want to can actually help you feel better.

Huimin's 21st @ festive hotel

I think this is damn adorable!

The pretty view from the balcony

Piggies-us

My fav girls + huazhong

Last but not least, a kiss for the birthday girl <3

Celebrated huimin's slightly belated 21st birthday at festive hotel suite and a last minute decision to stay over on the second night! It was really a hilarious and exhausting night with bang game, poker cards, cider, liquor and huimin's insane alcohol aftermath. Nevertheless, hope min like the pandora's bracelet we got for her and had an enjoyable birthday this year, love you xo!

Reality

A letter to myself

1. Study hard - The finals are around corner, in less than two months' time and sometimes when I feel like being a couch potato (like today) and when the motivation level drops, I totally can't focus on anything especially studies. Well I guess, only stress can do this job well.

2. Work hard - Maybe I'm not like some others or I'm just like some others that I've gotta earn my own allowances, not for additional spendings but for necessities and extra savings. It's exhausting and sometimes I wish I still could be sleeping like a log on a sunday morning than dragging my feet to work.

3. Keeping in touch with everyone - I need more time but sometimes we're the controller of it. Just yesterday, I was wondering about how long have I not really caught up with everyone around me. Usually, everyone only meet up in special occasions and not as frequent as when we were younger, had more time because the only commitment was just studies. This is probably a part of growing up. We tend to have lesser time, more commitments but all these are not excuses to stop keeping in touch with everyone around you. Least, try your best to do so.

4. Spend less and save more - Who can resist temptations of pretty clothes around with all the updated cyber circulation of new online collections and cafe-hopping for some comfort food? It's rather tough, isn't it? Especially girls. But all these aren't needs, just wants. Listing down the needs, try to reduce the wants and maybe you would realize you'd be able to spend on something more interesting than the norms.

5. Be more appreciative, thankful and grateful - As I'm starting to grow older, I've realized that sometimes certain things in life are just inevitable. You wouldn't know what you'll lose one day, you wouldn't know what may happen tomorrow, you see sometimes some people just couldn't even see tomorrow. Treasure everything you've in your life, appreciate the good and the bad because bad isn't the worst, bad will only get better.

Social sin + jack the giant slayer

Seriously last warning this boy's retarded face

A impromptu double date on a saturday noon with kevin and andrea.

Brunch at social sin was pretty average, service wasn't up to standard (the waiter forgot about the ice water despite asking him for three times), wanted to try canadian breakfast but according to them, the pancakes were sold out (what?!) and the pork sausage was actually quite spicy. Nevertheless, they do have a wide variety of choices from breakfast to pasta to pizza and seize the chance to try this out while they are still having 1-for-1 promotion for all day breakfasts!

While waiting for the movie, gj boy suggested to play arcade and it's really cute how andrea got all excited. And as expected, I suck at arcade games. Anyway, jack the giant slayer's definitely worth the watch!

Till then, x (:
