Things we should be more grateful for

1. Being in relatively good health (even if there is always going to be room for improvement) and having a lot to look forward to in life.

2. Friends whom you can go months or years without seeing, but with whom it always feels like you are picking up exactly where you left off.

3. Family who will always be there for you even if you're at your worse because you know they will never judge and they care genuinely.

4. The fact that travel is less expensive and more accessible than it has ever been.

5. The people you encounter throughout your day, who take the extra moment to be kind, to smile, and to make you feel tended to.

6. Hugs - sometimes this is the best remedy for almost anything in life.

7. The fact that we are able to explore and falter in the pursuit of what we want and that we have never had more options for what our life could look some day like than right now.

-

Fancy me blogging at this ungodly hour about this but don't you think there are way more things that we should be grateful for in life? You may not know what will happen anytime, any day so always learn to appreciate and be thankful. Goodnight owlies, x.

#1

Holla world, if you've been reading my tweets, you would have known that my nose bleeding syndrome is haunting me again just last night and this morning thus I had to give school and work a miss. Maybe I really love being a couch potato these days, lazing at home and dozing off as and when I like but that's definitely not the right way because prelims is nearing, just exactly in four weeks' time!

Anyway, a colleague of mine told me something at work yesterday which tickled me right away teehee.

A: Omg michelle, I've got something to tell you!
Me: Yes yes what is it!
A: Err, I need to tell you personally.
Me: Just tell me now uh.
A: Aiya, actually it's nothing much, I tell you later okay.

So she left me hanging all the way until after I came back from lunch break.

Me: So can you tell me now?
A: Huh, err, I don't know how to tell you, really nothing much.
Me: Omg you're killing me. I feel like ignoring you.
A: Huh don't like that leh... anyway I really like to see your pictures with your bf, both of you look so compatible, so sweet!
Me: Really?! I'm gonna tell him that (smiling to myself and my heart was actually screaming yay inside)!

This actually made my noon at work yesterday so... do we look compatible like what she said? :> (Look below)

When it feels like it's love, all the stars lift you up
Well, to place you high above on top of the world
And you know it must be right cause it's burning up inside
I can feel it in your eyes I want you to know
Yeah I'm just glad that I found you

It has been quite sometime (no, I should say a very long time) since I've last said this kinda cheesy peasy things on a public space but I still want to type this over here.

Do you still remember the first time we chatted? All the way from 12 to 4 in the morning, continuously? You told me, your thumbs were so numb and you haven't chatted with someone for this long but this ain't stopping you. I felt it, that kinda spark, from you and between us. Yes this was how maniacal when we only knew each other for a day (less than a day). You would send me pictures like 'I text you, you don't text back, I feel stupid', 'cat showing puppy eyes' and '/flip table/' which I thought were damn cute. However, things weren't as smooth sailing as it went on at the beginning. It was rather berserk too, how we had all the little arguments here and there. My fears and your deep emotions were conflicting but all these made a good turn miraculously. It wasn't easy for me to take a step out to trust someone again but your sincerity made me believe so. 31 days have just passed in a blink of an eye, we have had the craziest happy moments and slight tough times but with faith, love and trust, these wouldn't stop us. Happy monthsary, my lover boy, GJ <3

TGIF: Bangkok jam + starbucks + hansel gretel

Caught this off his guard hiak hiak

His, pad thai

And mine, egg noodle with bacon and crabmeat

I had to snap shots after shots to get a decent one like this!

And if you're wondering, I wasn't the one who suggested to do this, this boy made me do this too!

<3

TGIF, I must emphasize because I could at last meet this boy of mine yay. Late lunch at bangkok jam was rather satisfying for a first try, chilled at starbucks while waiting for our evening movie, hansel and gretel which was damn awesome (you must catch it) although the film was pretty short. Cold stone's staffs made our night because they actually gave us two medium portions of ice-cream instead of the small ones I ordered, one of the happy littlest things in life!

Have a great weekend all, cheerios x!

The way you should love someone

"Choose to love them when they say your least favorite word, choose to love them when they have a day when they need you more than usual, choose to love them when they smell like shit, choose to love them when they aren’t well, when they aren’t the able-bodied picture of beauty they were when they met you because people never stay the way you want them to. You should know that.

Growing up, I thought falling in love was just something people did to distract themselves from dying. It was like getting a tattoo; having a boyfriend or a girlfriend was a way of branding yourself and letting people know that you were valued and that you were important. There was something inside of you that made you better than the average person.

Now I know that, in many ways, I was right from the very beginning. But the kind of love I understood when I was younger is not necessarily the 'correct' kind of love. That kind of love is paper-thin and it will wash away. However, every time you choose to love someone despite the bullshit, you are making it stronger, you are painting a fuller picture. By choosing to love, you are accepting the flaws and ugliness that comes along with something beautiful."

The world as I see it

Yeah the world as I see it, is a remarkable place
Every man makes a difference and every mother’s child is a saint
From a bird's eye view I can see, we are spiraling down in gravity
From a bird's eye view I can see, you are just like me

D' Good Cafe @ Holland V

Being greeted by this cool lift, you ought to take this if you're gonna visit this cafe!

The view from where we first sat as the swinging seats were being taken. Anyway I really love the concept of this cafe!

Ruby's homemade american breakfast ($16.50) and hot chocolate ($3)

My eggs benedict ($13.50) and cafe latte ($3) which I thought was quite appealing, it can be compared to hatched but definitely not choupinette so you know where to go if you wanna have a bite of the best eggs ben!

Yay swinging seats for us after our meals!

Saturday noon was definitely well spent with ruby, a primary school friend, the next block neighbour and fellow gemini, whom I've known for twelve years! Realized how time has flown swiftly when we were reminiscing about the o'school memories and catching up with our personal lives during the past years. I've never thought that I'd still be able to do this with a primary school pal but I'm really glad :> (P.S: I know you'll be reading this, brunch soon again babe!)

Limitedless

Ikea for dinner to satisfy my cravings :B

"Check out how I tie my sneakers, nice right! And look at my berms, I really love it!" That was what he said for numerous times yesterday.

Despite having down times at the work place due to reducing of shifts, it was kinda a blessing in disguise as I got to meet the boy earlier and spent quality time together. I couldn't ask for more than this, a simple friday with someone who makes you genuinely jolly :>

Are we all we are

15 days into 2013. This year I've decided not to do any resolutions because it's kinda pointless (as I'd usually end up not following and achieving them) so I guess it's more realistic if I make short term goals?

As you know, I spent the first few days of 2013 in another city and I'm still trying to rid the holiday mood. Apparently, this first half a year will be torturous - prelims to piano theory exam to revision workshops to study week to final exams. I should really thank my piano teacher who allowed me to take my practical exam next march instead of upcoming aug/sep. How I wish time fly a little faster so that I can enjoy the four months holiday fruitfully!

On a side note, everything had been better than expected. Like what I've said before, best things happen when you least expect them to and disappointment won't get over you if you don't expect much. Alright, a close book hrm essay test tomorrow, wish me luck!

Taiwan day five (winter)

Here's to the last day of this winter getaway.

Took a cab down to yongkang street as we didn't really know the route towards the place.

This street is really as wonderful as what I've heard about it, eateries and cafes everywhere.

First stop at golden chicken garden for some authentic dim sum, xlbs, prawn and meat siew mai, egg vege soup and pork rib noodles! One word for all these, fantastic!

Rose chocolate mousse

Vanilla x wild berry macaron (it's a huge one)!!!

I can never ever resist macaron temptations

Made a new friend, winnie while we were on our way back to the airport. It was really nice to meet a stranger who's also from your hometown and somewhere foreign. This has marked the end of the five days getaway. More to come soon, hopefully!

Taiwan day four (winter)

Started off day four at hello kitty cafe as it was raining and we had no choice but to cancel our trip to jiufen and shifen sadly but well I guess it may be a blessing in disguise afterall as we managed to find somewhere else to shop instead.

Pretty cafe and set-ups at one of the sogo!

Apparently we spent almost the whole noon shopping at zhongxiao underground mall which is linked from zhongxiao fuxing to zhongxiao dunhua and the night time exploring ximending (I was once again too lazy to capture more visuals) and ended the night at holiday ktv for an insane singing session which made me lose my  voice on the last day of this trip. Stayed tuned for the last post which I'll try to update soon (:
